HUMAN TRAFFICKING PREVENTION
In January 27th, in recognition of Human Trafficking Awareness Month, Global Fashion Mission, Project Missionary Position, and the River of Life Church of Cambodia will be making a pilgrimage through three impoverished provinces in Cambodia to supply aid and educate the local families regarding the dangers of human trafficking.
90% of the impoverished population in Cambodia live in rural areas, where many children are forced to quit school before they finish the equivalent of elementary school to work in the fields. Oftentimes to ensure the continued survival of their families, parents must travel to where the work is, which leaves their children exposed to the dangers of human trafficking, either through outright kidnappings or unscrupulous organizations promising better lives for their children to naïve parents.
During our two week journey, we will be visiting the Mondulkiri Province, the Prey Veng Province, and the Kompong Speu Province in Cambodia and distributing 50-pound bags of rice, each of which will feed a family of four for several months. $25 USD covers the cost-of-goods and transportation costs for each 50-pound bag.
We hope to be able to reach over 300 families in the three provinces (100 families in each of the three provinces) and help educate families on the warning signs of human trafficking and how to protect their children.
In order to accomplish our goals, GFM, Project Missionary Position, and the River of Life Church will be raising funds through the sale of GFM products at special events as well as accepting donations to help fund the purchase, transportation, and distribution of each 50-pound bag of rice, each of which will help sustain a single family.
" Can you imagine the positive impact we can all make in the world we share? I hope that you would consider joining us in fulfilling this mission together! " Malyneath Vong GFM Founder
